Historical Tidbits

Rockbridge Road was first established in 1824. Before that, this area was part of the HighTower Trail. The Creek Indians used the trail to travel from their large Yellow River village to ceremonial sites on the top of Stone Mountain.

The first homes in Summertown and Rockbridge Acres were built around 1974-5. In 1978 the developer gave the community the 4.5 acre SRA grounds for our earliest residents to construct a pool & tennis court. Our residents paid $600 initiation fees for construction. Most of our homes were built by the early 1980’s
