20090219 Workday Announcment

To all neighbors (anyone getting this email should help if able): There will be a front entrance and common grounds workday this Saturday Feb. 21 from 8am to 2pm. All residents are encouraged to come and help spruce up the common areas, even if you can only stay an hour or so. Please bring gardening tools - pruners, rakes, brooms, gloves etc. if you have them.

Anyone with a pickup truck who is willing to help Mary Koponen go to Annistown & 124 to pick up 35 pine straw bales for front entrance should call 770-879-7338 by Friday night. Sorry, we only have about 15 front entrance donors and SRAA members in 2009 total, no funds to have them delivered, and no funds for flowers.

Here is the list of chores to be done:

NOTE: Electricity to the entire common grounds has been turned off

• Pick up trash including along Rockbridge Road all the way from West Park pl to N. Deshong, including median (bring trash bags and leave them at Summertown sign island, full bags can be left there & Mary will haul away)
• Rake/blow leaves around pavilion, pool area, driveway
• Prune hedges around parking lot
• Haul away fallen tree limbs, especially on tennis courts and pavilion (wear gloves)
• Pull weeds on tennis courts (a private coach will teach tennis lessons soon)
• sweep pavilion floor, and decks
• replace light bulb fixtures at pavilion (bring flood bulbs & ladder)
• pull weeds at entrance & tennis court area
• Remove lower branches from Bradford pear trees in parking lot
• cut down pampas grass
• someone should check for dead trees on the common grounds so we can have them removed before they fall & before roof repairs are made to pavilion. Report to Mary Koponen or April Leflore
